With the aim to increase the access to education about among tribals, Vidya Bharati, Gujarat state initiated this noble act from 21 cultural centers in the district of Bharuch. Need to establish residential education institution for better education of these underprivileged students was realized while managing these centers and ‘Vidya Bharati Vanavasi Shikshan Samiti, Narmada’ came into existence. It was determined that Vidya Bharati Vanavasi Shikshan Samiti will concentrate its efforts on making education accessible to these 13 tribal districts. The 32 acres sprawling campus was established at Kakadkui village of Bharuch district in 2006-07, with special focus on tribal students. Madhav Vidya Pith has successfully completed 10 years now.
Madhav Vidyapith is completely society dependent and being managed by funds received from philanthropist across India. Madhav Vidyapith has not requested for any funds from the government in last 10 years of operation.


Currently, 370 students from 126 villages of 7 tribal districts have enrolled at Madhav Vidyapeeth. Education among girls in tribal areas is alarmingly low. However, enrolment of girls in education is satisfactory at Madhav Vidyapeeth. 149 boys and 221 girls are availing facilities at Madhav Vidyapeeth. The institute is not only providing quality education to these students, but also focusing on character building which can lead to a better nation building.
